Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I require 1 parking space, an electrical power supply and 3x2m space for performance.

What information do you require about a venue?

A clear address and assurance of a parking space.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

I can provide my own PA system.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, this can be provided with no problem (the fee for this will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis dependent on timings.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

One of my favourite gigs was playing in the Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall with the band Kessoncoda (formerly Maliki).
Performing with Shed Seven at the "Sign Of The Times" festival in 2022 was a lot of fun.

What's your favourite type of event?

I enjoy providing live music at any event, but weddings and parts would probably be my favourite as it's always such a pleasure to be part of such a special day and be able to add something special on top.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I've been gigging since I was a teenager - starting off at local events like charity events or live music pub nights.
I then studied Jazz at Leeds Conservatoire, where I gigged 3-5 nights a week for 3 years, whether that was playing original music with bands or performing covers at bars and venues.
I've been performing solo gigs for over 5 years and can tailor a setlist to a client's taste, whether they want background jazz, upbeat pop, soul /Motown or even Ibiza-style EDM.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Saxophonists who have influenced me include; Stan Getz, Coleman Hawkins, Bob Reynolds, Ben Wendel, Seamus Blake

Greatest songs of all time: Dawn Chorus (Thom Yorke), Moonlight In Vermont (Stan Getz), Gipsy (Fleetwood Mac).

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

If an event/venue already has its own PA system, then I can be up and running in approximately 15 minutes.
If I am providing the PA system, then I normally ask for an hour to set up to be able to set up safely without any rush or panic.

Are you happy to perform outside?

I am happy to perform outside, however, cover/shelter from rain is essential as I cannot get my instrument or electrical equipment wet.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I am open to requests, all I ask is that fair notice of this request is given (2 weeks).

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Clients often comment on my flexibility and amenability in arrangements and that the music provides the highlight of an event, elevating it either in energy or class.
