Alexandre Guerra is a bass player from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Born and raised in the city of Bossa Nova, Alexandre has started his career as a professional musician by the age of 20, when he started playing with different jazz, blues and pop bands in venues, restaurants, weddings and corporate events. While in Rio, he had the opportunity to follow and study with some of the greatest names when it comes to contemporary Brazilian music: Itiberê Zwarg (composition, arrangement and ensemble practice); Bernardo Ramos (improvisation and jazz ensemble practice); Bruno Aguilar; and Adriano Giffoni (electric, fretless and acoustic double bass). Now based in Dublin, Alexandre is looking ahead for new musical challenges and partnerships to come, always trying to dig in to the most creative and audacious side of contemporary music, whether in jazz, pop, rock or folk music.
