Anavarata is a community based Non- Profit Organisation in the townships of South Africa involved in FREE training, development and retention of Youth in the creative/ Arts & Culture sector in South Africa. We are 62 years old- the oldest organisation of its kind on the Continent of Africa, in terms of Indian, multicultural and Intercultural dance, as well as, UNESCO (CID) Council of International Dance members.
Our focus is Training, Performance and Production & Direction. We specialise in dance from all over the world and are authorities on all things South Asian and South East Asian. A mix of traditional and contemporary Dance and Dance Theatre is used to create a unique, new and fresh look at South African dance culture. The young people not only train in multicultural & intercultural genres as international performing artists, but also as trainers and arts administrators. Our performances are unique & full of passion and designed to meet each client's needs.
We have a small performance troupe that packs a huge punch. Our Artistic Director has just submitted her PhD in Theatre & Performance for examination.
NB: Our minimum quoted price is for local performances, and is distance dependent. International performances will be negotiated on the client's budget.
