In his career, André Murraças has been part of different projects, taking part in concerts at the main national and international festivals and clubs, with some of the most important musicians on the music scene.
The musician performs in various formations, from traditional jazz to more contemporary styles (afrobeat, funk, pop), having already shared the stage with Nelson Cascais, André Fernandes, Pedro Moreira, Pedro Abrunhosa, Orelha Negra, Peste & Sida among others.
He recently released his first solo album, entitled "Regularmente Irregular" (2024, Roda Music), accompanied by João Carreiro (guitar), Francisco Brito (double bass) and Luís Candeias (drums).
He has also collaborated with "Cabrita", a solo project by saxophonist João Cabrita; "Gume", a collective that mixes Afrobeat with improvised music; and "Roque", a solo project by guitarist João Roque.
He has a degree in Jazz Saxophone from the Lisbon Superior School of Music and has studied at the Caldas da Rainha Conservatory, the Hot Club of Portugal Jazz School and the Van Amsterdam Conservatory.
In addition to his work as a musician, he teaches at Luiz Villas-Boas Jazz School (Hot Clube de Portugal), Musicentro - Salesianos do Estoril and New Music School.
