About / Biography

As an acoustic singer/performer/songwriter, I blend well-loved covers and throw in the odd original song, delivering a unique and heartfelt experience. Known for my powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence, I captivate audiences and create memorable live performances. My connection with listeners has earned me repeat invitations to venues and the privilege of supporting some great names in the industry. Passionate about performing music, I love to bring familiar favourites to life with my own twist. I'd also like to add that I have all my own equipment, transport and bring along with me a highly competent performance and professional work ethic.

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I have all my own equipment, including two speakers on stands, a mixer and all of my own cables and extension sockets. I generally only ever ask for a tall stool to perform with. My extension socket is 10 metres, so would require one plug socket near the performance area. Also, one parking space is ideal but not off-putting if none available, as I would work around it.

What information do you require about a venue?

General load-in area.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

I fully provide all of my own performance equipment.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

I have the equipment to supply Spotify playlists through my PA if required.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

I’ve performed all over the country but, my most memorable experiences were at The Globe (Cardiff), The Sound House (Dublin), The Live Rooms (Chester) and there’s a little place in Conwy called The Bee Inn, which has a special place in my heart for its wonderful community spirit. I do love the big and packed out venues but have a soft spot for much more intimate settings. The landlord and landlady even asked me to play their wedding at The Bee Inn after I did my first show there.

I’ve also supported some great names, such as Ash, Shaun Ryder, Bluetones, James Walsh of Starsailor, The Orb and many more.

What's your favourite type of event?

My favourite event is an intimate setting, where people really do come for the music and absorb the performance. I have played to hundreds and thousands but my favourite is still a good little boozer that loves the vibe.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I’ve been gigging as a solo performer for around 10 years and been in bands prior. I have vast experience in dealing with venues and promoters. I also worked the tribute scene as a frontman for a few years but resigned to go back to my solo roots. I’ve performed hundreds of gigs throughout my career in music. I’ve never been one to chase fame or fortune. I just love performing.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

I’m hugely influenced by indie rock, classic rock, electronica, 80’s punk and new wave. It’s hard to name direct artists because there are so many! One minute I’d say The Beatles, then up next it’s David Bowie, Nirvana and then a shift onto the likes of Radiohead. I love classical piano music and then a face-melting metal riff. I love film score music, which I would say gave me my passion to create. Other bands that have influenced me are the likes of The Cure, Pixies, Johnny Cash, The Strokes, Queens of the Stoneage.. and the likes.

My cover set consists of the likes of Queen, Coldplay, Oasis, David Bowie, Johnny Cash, Greenday, Bob Dylan, Florence and the Machine, Radiohead, The Jam, The Clash, Travis, Jeff Buckley, Bob Marley… and so much more! I do a lot of known covers with my own twist and also throw in some originals.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I always arrive over an hour early to get settled and set up. Happy to do 2x 45 minutes but always go over if requested. I always have an encore list just incase. Whatever suits.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Im happy to perform outside as long as theres a power unit.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I have my specific setlists but I’m always adding and subtracting along the way, which helps me tailor to certain demographics. If I’m requested certain songs and don’t know them, I write them down and go and learn for next time. I do have over 70 songs in my list of what I play. It’s all about reading the room. I turn up with a set that I always feel would be universally enjoyable. In regard to private functions, I discuss with clients any requests they may have.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

I always get great feedback no matter where I play. I get a lot of focus and praise on how diverse my set can be and how I change my style of singing to fit to each song. I do have a review of a gig where I supported James Walsh of Starsailor - https://allmusicmagazine.com/love-music-live-warrington-presents-james-walsh-of-starsailor-at-warrington-irish-club-sunday-2nd-july-2023/?
