Due to his wide range of musicianship skills, Angelo Velasquez is an in demand drummer and band leader in the greater Los Angeles and Ventura County areas. He is noted for having an excellent command of both fundamental and advanced drumming techniques, wide musical concepts, multiple styles, musicianship, sight reading, and improvisation. Angelo specializes in reading and sight reading of original music and arragments of previously existing music. He possesses a deep and in depth knowledge of many genres and subgenres of music, such as traditional and modern Big Band, Bebop, Hard Bop, Fusion, Modern, and Free Jazz as well as traditional Salsa, Afro Cuban, Flamenco, Dixie Land, Blues, Hip-Hop, Persian, Pop, Rock, Orchestral, marching band and Country.
