We need enough stage room to accommodate an electric bass player with amplifier, a guitar player with amplifier and effects, and a full kit drummer.
We need enough grounded electrical outlets to supply power to two amplifiers, a mixing console, and two powered P.A. speakers.
Parking spaces near or at load-in area would be splendid, but not required.
Does the venue have an in-house sound person and house P.A. system?
Does the venue have a dedicated load-in area? Is there parking near the venue for load-in if not?
A proper address (findable on Google Maps) or directions to the venue would be splendid.
What time will the band be permitted to load-in and set up?
We are self-contained and will provide a simple P.A. system along with all necessary gear to make the performance possible for venues that hold up to 150 people. Venues bigger than that will require more sound reinforcement, and we would factor the cost of a rental into our final fee if the venue itself does not have an in-house P.A. system and sound person.
Yes, either from spotify, or from a selection of music we bring with us.
As an opening act for a major recording artist in Red Boiling Springs Tennessee. The show was a 10,000 seat venue, sold out. The applause from that many people is exhilarating!
My favorite type of event is one where all attendees are there to have a good time. I love to see people dancing as we play.
We have all been in other bands, performing in various acts for the last 40 years or so. We began playing together as The Bartabs about 3 years ago. I moved to Nashville in the late 80's, where I played for various artists. Two of those artists were booked for multiple weeks in a Las Vegas showroom, while others traveled and performed regionally opening for major label artists. In the late 90's, I played for Mathew Ryan, and then Dick Aven (formally of the Cages).
Clapton, Haggard, Jones, Dire Straits, Petty, Kate Bush, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Lucinda Williams, Joni Mitchell, Beatles....so many. "Blue" off the Blue album by Joni Mitchell is probably in the top 5 greatest songs, along with Long and Winding Road.
We (the Bartabs) are long time veteran musicians with tons of experience and expertise. We are adults, super dependable, no nonsense from a business perspective. We do not do drugs, nor do we drink to excess, and we take your satisfaction with us very seriously. Our aim is to provide the best musical experience we can for the money. Everyday, we wake up working on how to make what we do the best we possibly can. Thank you for considering us.
We aim to arrive 3 hours before the performance. Set up usually takes about an hour and a half to two hours. We play 3 x 50 minute sets, with 15 minutes break in between. Each set has about 10 to 12 songs, with very little to no talking in between. We aim to keep the music going, with little to no interruption.
We will perform outside on level ground, preferably a band riser or concrete pad. A power supply close to the performance area is a must. Shade possibly in the form of a tented area and protection from the elements is preferred.
If the client has a favorite song, we would need to know this at least two weeks in advance. We generally do not take requests during the performance. This is the best way to ensure a consistent, quality performance. A client may look at our song list and make known their priorities.
People are generally pleasantly surprised to hear great songs they either have never heard before but love, or haven't heard in a long time. They appreciate the fact that we do not do the same songs as every other cover band they've heard before. People are usually dancing soon into the first set. They definitely comment on the energy and the quality of the performance, being better than the average.
