Jerome Cheatham 4-6 String Electric Basses, 4-5 String Upright Basses

I began performing professionally at the age of 14. His R&B group performed at universities in the area and was named “Best Band” by the Fraternities and Sororities at Purdue. I majored in Music Education and Music Business at Indiana State University. While attending ISU, I performed with the jazz fusion group “Hank Roberts Quartet” Hank was named Down Beat Cellist of the Year several times and records on ECM records. I also performed with his college professors in the jazz fusion group “Rhythmic Union” on Inner City Records of New York. The group released two albums (Gentle Awakening/Beyond the Limit) “Cheer Up” was co-written by me and published on “Beyond the Limit”. Rhythmic Union toured the mid-west in support of the albums. Currently I am available as a sideman on call for any group in need of a bass player in the Indianapolis area.

I have performed at the Arts Garden Jazz Kitchen, Chatterbox, Mousetrap, Slippery Noodle, Melody Inn, and various other venues with various band leaders.

I have performed with big bands, as well as jazz, reggae, country, R&B, pop, blues, and Salsa groups.
