Big Smoke Brass - UK are a London based brass band that perform high-energy covers of classic pop songs, perfect for providing infectious energy to any event! We perform at the highest standard in every show that we do, whether a private corporate function such as office party, wedding, Oktoberfest, or public shows, street parties and festivals. We know that we can bring an engaging and captivating show to your event! The band are also visually engaging, showcasing our signature coloured braces, which combine professional and smart attire with an eye catching colour scheme.
Our musical style is inspired by the traditional New Orleans brass bands, bringing the genre into the 21st century with modern pop songs. We are able to provide different line-ups including: 7-Piece Roaming Band, Party Band with Singer, Oompah Party Band etc. to create the perfect performance for almost any event. From Stevie Wonder to Cascada, Bruno Mars to Girls Aloud, Big Smoke Brass - UK have a wide range of music to suit your needs and get your audience partying!
We are able to perform both indoors and outdoors (weather permitting, shelter needed for rain), not requiring any form of amplification, although having a mic setup elevates our performance further. The beauty of the brass band is we can perform as a roaming band, moving around the performance space, and we can be used to lead crowds into a completely different room, making you feel like you're right in New Orleans! We have a standard set list that we send out to clients, where you can choose your favourite tunes for us to play and, with enough notice, we can also play a couple of extra special requests. Whether a small garden party or a large festival stage, Big Smoke Brass - UK are able to play at all settings, and we strive to go the extra mile to make your event especially memorable.
We offer a range of packages from our Basic - Acoustic package to our Premium Party package. Any package which includes the use of our PA system requires access to at least 2 x power sockets and a performance area of at least 3 x 6 meters. We typically require parking for 3 cars.
We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right place to load in our equipment. We’d also need to be informed if there’s a sound limiter in the venue
Yes, we’re completely self contained. We can perform completely acoustically when required but we can also bring our own PA system as well as a simple lighting rig.
Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music.
We have played at some incredible venues in the past including: Shakespeare's Globe, The Queen's Club, Goodwood Festival, The Great Conservatory at Syon Park, Alexandra Palace, O2 Academy Islington to name a few.
We love playing at all sorts of events but weddings and festivals are our favourite!
We started gigging whilst studying at musical college and our performances and line-ups developed from there. Since then, we’ve performed at hundreds of weddings, parties and events across the UK and beyond.
We take inspiration from bands such Old Dirty Brasstards, Hot 8 Brass Band, Youngblood Brass Band and Lucky Chops.
Due to the large number of engagements we complete each year we cannot guarantee the availability of our core groups of musicians at every gig. We have a large pool of trusted musicians who regularly perform with the band and so should any of the core members not be available they will be replaced by a suitable musician in order to allow us to complete every booking.
Our standard performance times are as follows:

2 x 45 minute sets
3 x 40 minute sets
Set up time depends on the event and line-up but we generally arrive 1-2 hour before the performance.
We are happy to perform outside - our roaming band is particularly well suited to this!
We can learn specific songs before the event for a small fee. We provide the client with our standard set list but are happy for them to make changes as desired.
