About / Biography

Bloco La Conga is an energetic drum and brass ensemble that plays Carnaval music of the African Diaspora. Our repertoire is heavily influenced by profound rhythmic traditions from Cuba, Brazil, and the USA.
We offer two main formats:

Brass band (5 or more musicians) playing mambo, Latin jazz, second line, conga, comparsa, and other Latin and Caribbean rhythms and Conga parade (4 or more drummers and percussionists).

Previous Performances include NYC Dance Parade, NYC Halloween Parade, Baruch College, and HONK! Festival, Shrine Harlem, NYC Open Streets, and the NYRican Poets Café.
