About / Biography

Blue Mountain Reggae Band is a five piece, Female - fronted cover band. Their name was inspired by the beautiful mountain range in Jamaica, which is also famous for coffee production. The band plays a wide variety of current, some classic Reggae and their take on popular songs. Taking popular songs that aren't Reggae and playing them in a Reggae style is what sets them apart from other bands. Whether you're a seasoned Reggae fan or new to the genre, Blue Mountain Reggae Band delivers an unforgettable musical experience.

Although, based in Essex and London, they are a travelling band and perform all over the UK. Members have also performed internationally, accumulating considerable amounts of experience. They consider performing alongside legends in Reggae music, such as Dandy Livingstone and Susan Cadogan one of their biggest achievements.

Influences include: Bob Marley, Marcia Griffiths, Etana and Amy Winehouse.

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

We are a 5 piece band (Our original line up is: 1 lead female vocals, keys, bass, guitar and drums. We provide full PA system etc. We require a stage that can facilitate that. Having a reasonable amount of power sockets is also advisable for the venue.


What information do you require about a venue?

Any information to do with parking, loading areas, entry & exit points for the performers will be helpful. Directions if the venue is located in an unusual area will also be appreciated.


Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

We take our own PA. We can provide lighting equipment upon request.


Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes. We can provide backing music before, in between and after live sets. We can also provide a DJ for an additional fee.

We were privileged to share the stage with legends in Reggae music, such as Dandy Livingstone and Susan Cadogan.


What's your favourite type of event?

We love playing at all sorts of events but weddings and festivals are our favourite! The guests are always happy and it’s easy to get them dancing.


What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

While all members of the band have different experiences, we have been performing for many years. We perform all over the UK. All members have gigged internationally as well.


Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Marcia Griffiths, Etana, Bob Marley have really inspired us. The list could go on. The greatest song? That's a tough one. There's too many great songs.


Do you have different line-up options?

Yes. Our standard line-up is as follows: 5-piece band, 1 Lead Female Vocalist, Guitar, Bass, Keys, Drums. We also have a duo and trio option. For more information, please make an enquiry.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We usually set up 1 to1.5 hours before the performance time. As soon as the PA system is set up, we can provide backing music. We normally perform 2 x 60 minute sets. Other set times can be arranged upon request.


Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, we're happy to perform outside, as long as we are under a gazebo to make sure our equipment is protected in case of bad weather.


Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Every booking gets one 'off the menu' song request for free. If there is more than one special song you'd like us to learn, we are happy to do this for you, as long as the band is given plenty of time. There is a fee of £50 for this service to take into account practice and rehearsal times etc.
