For acoustic proposals and San Francisco City Hall, we require 2 armless chairs. For other events, we require access to electricity and a 6' x 8" flat performance area. At any venue, the instruments and equipment must be protected from dampness, direct sun and extreme weather conditions at all times.
Address, location of accessible power near performance area, protection from the elements, load-in and parking instructions, venue
We bring our own sound equipment. We do not off DJ or MC services.
No. We don't provide sound during breaks, but your DJ will likely be happy to take over for 10 minutes.
We have our own, custom sound system, created just for the unique demands of live violins. We are able to down- and up-size it to fit your specific venue and number of guests.
Yes, we can run a cable to your DJ if you'd like the sound to also go through his system. This can work well if you'd like our sound to be in more than one room.
We'll need a flat space about 8' x 8' that is completely shaded and protected from the elements. There needs to be access to a power outlet in a place that doesn't require running a power cord where people can trip on it. 2 chairs is always nice. Other than that, we are self-contained.
Both of us have performed on several continents as concert musicians and for royal heads of state and titans of industry. One recent wedding was especially memorable because the bride arrived in a helicopter. The best gigs and venues are the ones where people are moved by the music, and that can happen anywhere.
We love playing everytime we can make an event more special, but weddings and receptions are just extra special. There's nothing like performing for happy, excited people and knowing we are helping make a very important day even more memorable.
We've both been in music our whole lives. Wes was born in Poland and played with the Warsaw Philharmonic before emigrating. He has performed with the San Francisco Symphony and the Skywalker Orchestra (recording soundtracks for many films), has been a signed artist for Warner Bros. and is a composer and music producer. Katrina was a professional symphony musician, toured internationally as a jazz musician, has a Gold Record and works with youth around the country to express themselves through music composition. They share a love for the joyful and emotional melodies in Bollywood songs and enjoy sharing them with others.
We love finding out about new Bollywood songs from our clients. There's always something different and intriguing to learn.
Typical booking is 2 hours for ceremony and cocktails or a 2-hour reception before wedding dinner and dancing. San Francisco City Hall daytime weddings are 1-hour only and acoustic. Surprise marriage proposals are usually 10-20 minutes of music.
We can perform outside as long as we are protected from direct sun, rain or dampness and there is access to power close by that guests won't be walking over.
We can sometimes accept special requests with enough notice. Since we create all our backing tracks ourselves and record each instrument part ourselves, every song is a weeks-to-month long process. We have an extensive list of songs you and your guests will love.
We've heard:
"It was so beautiful"
"I just got goose bumps"
"Amazing"
"So melodious"
"I thought you were a recording"
We like to arrive 90 minutes prior to when you want the music to start. We can work with your planner or venue manager on the exact logistics that fit your needs best.
We are happy to wear either Indian or Western attire, whichever you prefer.
We spend 6-8 weeks of intense work to add a song to the repertoire. We record each instrument, one note at a time, to create our custom backing tracks, so if you'd like us to do a specific song, we'll need a lot of advance notice. Also, not all requests will sound good on violins or with our style of playing, so we reserve the right of refusal. That said, we enjoy learning about new songs and often add suggestions to our list to bring on board later and will do our best to accommodate.
We don't share names of clients but you can read their reviews
