We capture the ‘cool classic’ sound of the great Brubeck Quartet. and the later era of Paul Desmond Quartet/Trio.
The Quartet came perform with two lineups, The Brubeck era, with piano, and Desmond's post Brubeck era where he performed with guitarists, mainly Jim Hall and Ed Bicker.
The Desmond era after The Brubeck Quartet is unbelievably cool, elegant classic jazz, gentle and sophisticated.
The sound of Paul Desmond has intrigued me since I was 14, and subsequently worked hard to capture the elegance and grace of the 'Dry Martini Sound' he had.(I have done my best)
The drummer in our quartet has been playing many Brubeck tunes also since his early teens, so playing in the time signatures of many of these tunes is second nature to him.
The piano player can play anything! A remarkable player, a special talent..

From years of experience, playing jazz in a cool classic style is not easy, hence very few Quartets are capable of recreating the sound and grace of the original records.
If both eras are required, it would be 5 players, two separate quartet lineups, though each group can play tunes from the other era.
