Bio 2022
Tobias Edelberg, Musician, Producer Artist. Born 1973 In the city that first pioneered
electronic music Dusseldorf on the majestic river Rein. Germany, in the early seventies was a hotbed of a avanguard student and sub culture scenes. Dusseldorf gave the world Kraftwerk plus, DJ Satish, Also known as Cafe Amsterdam or D-Ryth or Tattva, Jai Ganesh and KAB Systems,
This by far doesn’t cover the many other side projects over the years.
When he turned 7 he moved to Portland Oregon. America. Where a large Latino and African American community thrived. So here he caught his first taste of Soul Music. Particularly the trumpet horn, which he picked up in those years and continued to play almost every day with a brazilian big band until the age of 13.
At the same time he spent time in a local audio department, and often DJ ´ed with Audio Cassette tapes for the Local Kids Disco.
It was then he moved back to Dusseldorf. Here the dread of school did nothing for him, he sought out a old friend who was working in a local Disco called the “Bhaggy”. Towards this he gravitated every day after school. His friend was also only 14. So at first they would practise further the arts of DJ’íng in the day time while earning money. In the late 90´s there was three turntables and a mike! Records became they way of expressing himself since there was no more place for a loud horn in the City. Tobias and his friend became a team of sorts, Tapesh the young friend would DJ and Tobias would rap. At the time “Public Enemy” was coming from across the big pond.
By the time we was 15 he had already sang with Boy Goerge (who was big deal in the 80´s)
Played in three Discos in Koln and Dusseldorf and had his very first taste of a recording studio.
The start of the 90´s was marked by the beginning of new sounds House from Chicago and Techno from the Rein-land and the Benelux. Tobias went to Goa, India, Thailand and Australia. On these tours he began to DJ or perform wherever he went and to cut this a lot shorter we list a few highlights. Also remember sets on the 1990’s were often more than 8 hours.

Production first started around 2000 In Ibiza where he produced his first Track called
“Welcome to Bombay” from then on he has created a vast treasure chest of chill out, trance music, house underground and experimental. Most of this was going out over “Space Radio” where about 7 Albums in total plus about 8 singles were released over 10 years. It wasn’t until 2022 when he started to produce under his own name that a wider audience was found. At the grass roots level. His sounds have changed to a more upbeat tribal ecstatic dance situation inspired by the Club Lite in Amsterdam, the drum circle in Miami and Hawaii.
A new bread of producers from South America and Africa are coming through now in 2022,
Tobias Edelberg is cutting that edge between dance electro and tribal.
