Cafè da Manha was born in Sofia, Bulgaria from the meeting of its two original members Yanko Argirov and Kremena Miteva both Bulgarinas and very committed with the kind of Brazilian and South American music. Since then and beginning as a duo they started to meet frequently and to work on different well known songs on these genres looking for a variation and an original sound. They have been through different formations changing now and then the other two members having had different percussionist and brass players until they get on the actual formation completed with Pablo Della Maggiora on drums & percussions and Alexander Gegov on sax. The band uses instruments typical for this genre such as pandeiro, cajon and guitar. The repertoire includes world-famous Brazilian compositions influenced by jazz music, as well as Bulgarian pop songs in bossa nova arrangements. The lyrical themes found in bossa nova include love, longing, homesickness, nature.After a few months they conformed the quartet as it is today continuing working on different arrangements on traditional bossa nova, latin and afro - brazilian songs. Now they are working on their first album to be recorded on the next months. As well and due to their festive music style, very often they are request for weddings, birthdays and any kind of social events.
