Can the venue supply background music while guests are taking their seats before the show begins/ends, and between sets if there’s a break(s)?

Over the decades of performances that CARNAVAL! has had, we have had shows at concerts, festivals, celebrations and benefits. It’s hard to pick a favorite, because they were all personal and memorable.

We really enjoy theatre concerts, festivals and large outdoor concerts/venues.

We're a tribute band that pays respectful homage to Santana. Each band member picks their favorite artist or guitarist, congero, pianist, etc., from the many decades of the Santana band.

We usually arrive at the venue 1.5 to 2.0 hrs before the performance, or at the time requested by the stage manager or hands. Set up takes approximately 1.0 hour or less. The band performs a line check and then a sound check. We request 0.5 to 1.0 hour to perform 2 to 6 songs to achieve optimum sound.

We’re happy to play outside, but we ask for some shade and a flat, level surface, and a power supply close to the performance area. We also ask for an area that can be covered in the case of sudden inclement weather. It is important that the stage and equipment is protected from the sun, rain, wind, and elements. These elements could be detrimental to the equipment and performers.

Clients may request certain songs from Santana's repertoire, and we'll do our best to fit it in if possible.

CARNAVAL's performances are actually better than Santana! That's not hyperbole; I've been to numerous concerts at which CARNAVAL played, and they were all just as good or even better than a Santana show, if not better. The reason? Simply put, CARNAVAL just plays their older tunes. They are the real thing, no one else out there comes anywhere close to them. Santana just doesn't play his older tunes, and if it weren't for CARNAVAL, some people would be thinking that he doesn't remember them.

The only thing outliving Carlos Santana's illustrious 50-year career is the swarm of tribute bands that have materialized in his Grammy-filled wake. There's no doubting the impact Santana's first few albums had on rock & roll, but who would have guessed that at least a dozen cover bands would earn their pay playing his hits on the bar circuit? Indeed, even if they're not the real thing, CARNAVAL certainly stands at the top of the Santana tribute list, meticulously re-enacting a wide repertoire of Santana material that includes the well-known stuff as well as more obscure B-sides that never made the charts!
