Who doesn't know Johnny Cash? With popular hits such as Ring of Fire, Walk the Line, Folsom Prison Blues and many more, The Man in Black still remains immensely popular even 20 years after his passing.
With a lot of enthusiasm, a young spirit, own arrangements and the ever-present freight train rhythm, Cashin' Around brings both the hits and the less-known songs of the early years of Johnny Cash and the Tennessee Three back on stage. This was in a fresh and youthful manner with a lot of input from themselves while always respecting and honoring the great singer himself.
The rhythm is brought to you by the Heyvaerts brothers; Warre creates the foundation with sturdy basslines while Ferre keeps a steady groove on drums. Lander Lampaert fills the songs with energetic solos and Luther Perkins influenced backing riffs. With Djalt Baculalay's rhythm guitar work they create the ideal accompaniment for Djalt's deep bass vocals.
The quartet can be expanded to a quintet with the addition of Loke Pollier on vocals, her sweet and light voice a beautiful contrast to Djalt's dark and low voice.
Together they bring some of the most famous Johnny Cash and June Carter songs and other unexpected duets with their own arrangements, bringing out the best of each other's voices.
Cashin' Around brings a bygone age of Western legends, love tales, Rock 'n Roll parties, steam locomotives and cowboy stories back to the 21st century with a modern twist, youthful energy and a passion for the legacy of the Tennessee Three.

We need to know if there is a PA system, amps and a drum kit available or if we need to bring amps, di systems and the drumkit ourselves. We require at least 3 power outlets on stage, one parking place for the quartet and at least 4 power outlets on stage, and two parking spaces for the full band.
We need to know directions to locate the venue and where to park and unload our equipment. We also want to know basic information about the venue, for example; the size of both the stage and the rest of the venue, if there's a sound system present or not etc.
We prefer working with a PA system at the venue itself but we can bring our own amplifiers, we have mics for the vocals and acoustic guitar.
We don't have a Spotify for between the sets or before and after and let the client choose the music.
Our favourite gig was in the Missy Sippy blues bar in Ghent, we had an extremely enthusiastic crowd and people dancing and singing along with the songs! Feeling a connection to the people in our audience is very important to us.
We love playing at every kind of event and are happy to cater to every customer's needs but our favourite events are gigs where we can connect to the audience.
We started playing together in the summer of 2024 and have since then played in a variety of Belgian bars and performed multiple times at the Gentse Feesten.
Being a Johnny Cash tribute group, we're of course influenced the most by Johnny Cash, especially in his early days. But we love incorporating other elements from his touring time with the Tennesse Three such as folklore, rock 'n roll, comedy bits and gospel. We also draw inspiration from other genres, and write our own arrangements and some original songs.
We usually arrive at least an hour before the performance to set up and talk with the organisers of the event. We normally perform two sets of around 45 minutes with a short break but we can also play one long set or multiple shorter sets.
We are happy to play outside but we ask for shade/protection from the rain and a flat surface to perform.
We can discuss specific song requests with clients before the concert.
Customers from previous gigs have described our concerts as a combination of high energy, youthful spirit and unique arrangements with a balance between well-known hits and more intimate songs.
