The Covent garden String Quartet (CGSQ) are a qualified professional group of musicians with many years' experience playing at a wide range of events and venues in London, Kent, Surrey and around the South East. We specialise in providing music for wedding ceremonies, civil partnerships, parties, anniversaries, charity benefits and corporate events.
They have an extensive and exciting repertoire featuring pop covers, TV themes, Film music and classical and Romantic favourites.
They regularly updating our list to include new arrangements-Recent additions include Bridgerton Style pop covers by Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Madonna, Miley Cyrus.
The string quartet's extensive live music experience includes recording for pop artists such as Kylie Minogue and Nick Cave, film soundtracks and many appearances as backing strings on ITV and the BBC - for example, GMTV, TOTP, MTV.
Individual work in CBSO, Les Miserables, D'oyle Carte orchestra, and ENB.
The quartet is always happy to find new music and special requests for clients- and to be as flexible as possible to provide a bespoke experience for any event.

We need a performance space of approx 3 metres x 2 metres. No electricity. Level ground and shelter from rain and sun if outside.
4 chairs without arms.
A room to leave empty cases in and get changed.
We need to know a post code for directions and parking for 2 cars if possible.
We can bring our own stand lights if needed. We do not have our own PA system.
We do not provide a DJ service between our sets.
It is impossible to choose a favourite/best gig- too many to narrow down.
WE love playing at all events- but weddings and parties are a favourite.
We started busking in Covent Garden as students and have gone on to perform for hundreds of events in the UK and Europe.
We really love playing cover versions of classic pop songs from the 60's and 70's, and more current arrangements like Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, TV and film music- and the Classical favourites - Vivaldi, Mozart, Bach etc
We have been working together for a long time- and we try to always be the same four players. Very occasionally if someone is ill, or has a commitment elsewhere we use one of our regular deputies- also musicians we have worked with before.
We normally arrive 1 hour before to set up. And play for 2 sets within a 3 hour period. eg 14.00-17.00 with a short break in the middle. We can play for longer but would need to adjust the set times.
We are happy to perform outside if it is not too cold, and we need to be out of the sun- and wind/rain.
And on a flat level area.
We have a repertoire list and we add music to it regularly. We are happy to play/ arrange special requests if they are possible.
Previous clients would say that we provided a wonderful bespoke performance that created a perfect atmosphere for their wedding ceremony.
The most we can do comfortably is 2 or 3 sets within a 3 hour period. More than 3 hours we need to have a longer break at some point
We always try to find the music for a special request- there may a an extra cost depending on what it is.
