About / Biography

Known respectively as the 'Queen of Crescendo' and 'The Champagne Chanteuse', Coco has been charming folks young and old up and down the Pacific coast since 2018. With no room too big or too small for her robust and finely-crafted croon, this one-woman cabaret leaves audiences of all sizes shaken and stirred by breathing new life into beloved standards of the 40's, 50's, 60's and Today with a voice and stage presence likened to icons Tina Turner, Etta James, Amy Winehouse, and Brittany Howard.

In addition to singing, Coco is available to host/emcee, and curate specialty and variety act lineups for your private or public engagements.

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I require a performance space of at least 4 feet x 4 feet with up-to 2 power sockets and 1 parking space, and a steady Wi-Fi connection in order to take requests.

What information do you require about a venue?

Directions for where to load-in equipment and setup, street parking availability, and any sound limiters or ordinances per venue.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

I can provide limited sound equipment in the form of my own PA system, mic and stand.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, I can play music from Spotify or YouTube before, after, and between my sets. I will choose the music based on the client's preference or theme.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

The biggest gig I've ever done would be a tie between performing in the World-Famous Burlesque Showcase at Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender 2024 and The Sacramento Kings' Christmas Party at the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel in Sacramento, California. "The Jacquelyn" takes the cake for the best venue I've ever worked at: their staff is so gracious and hospitable and fun; I feel spoiled getting to perform for their members.

What's your favourite type of event?

My favorite types of events are the intimate ones. I love connecting with the audience/eventgoers, not only through singing but also by talking on the mic with them.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I've been performing full-time for almost 7 years. I got my start completely by chance one day when I stopped into my favorite restaurant after work for a cocktail and the bartender and barback overheard me singing quietly along to the music playing overhead. They told their restaurant manager who made me sing for him on the spot and then offered me a weekly spot to sing for them. It became so popular that they gave me two nights a week and I've been performing professionally ever since.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

The vocalists that influence me the most would be Etta James, Tina Turner, Amy Winehouse, Brittany Howard, James Hetfield, and Jack Black. The way they utilize(d) their (vocal) instruments to create sounds all their own is what I admire most.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I typically set up and sound check 90 minutes to doors and perform 3 x 35–45-minute sets.

Are you happy to perform outside?

I'm happy to perform outside, but request shade, a flat level surface, and a power supply close to the stage/performance area.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

My repertoire is vast and spans a multitude of different genres, but I try my best to play to the room (no matter how big or small) based on the energy/vibes of the audience and what they respond to, which can be anything from Cole Porter to 2000's Pop to Disney Showtunes to 1990's Country hits. My sets are a direct reflection of my audience. I'm happy to take requests so long as the requests aren't too obscure, out of my key, or limited by copyright. If a client wants all-Amy Winehouse or Christmas music, I can do that too, within reason.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Previous clients have described my performances as "dynamic" "incredible" "otherworldly" "awe-inspiring" and "the most fun" they've ever had at a show. I've also received a standing ovation from Quentin Tarantino.
