Da MTown Band is a 10-Piece funk n soul fusion band from
Memphis, Tn that brings it like no other. Imagine a party
band, but filled with all original songs. Their motto is “If
You Wanted Covers, You Should’ve Stayed In Bed”.
This is one of the few bands that offer a full unique Memphis experience of original music; fusing funk with soul, RnB, blues, jazz, poetry, & even 2nd Line Brass Band Style. They have been labeled as "The Heartbeat Of Memphis”.

Unique/Intense/Heartfelt are just a few simple ways to
describe Da MTown Band. Their sound is led by the
International Award-Winning Multi-Instrumentalist &
native Memphian “Suavo Jones” whom is no amateur to
the big stage with awards such as Musician OTY. His goal is
to rebirth the Memphis music experience, while pushing
positivity to the masses.
Their musical influences include Rebirth Brass Band, The
Roots, & ground breaking artists such as Booker T & The
M.G.s. The sound emitted from this band will either have
you at the edge of your seats or on the dance floor.

The best gig that we've done was the Keepin It Memphis Concert Series, held at the Memphis Music Room. It was our favorite because it was our very own production. It was held in a large performance hall on a big stage. We took matters into our own hands to produce our own shows. Being a diverse band with original music can be a scary journey. We honestly don't like to categorize our sound, we just like to give a great show and this helped us grow fans for our band as well as our brand.
My favorite type of event would have to be festivals. It's hard to match the feeling of a well put together festival on a big stage.
We started gigging together as a band after we did a full impromptu gig together with no rehearsal and all original music and absolutely rocked the house. We all knew that this could be something if we put a little elbow grease on it.
