I require a PA, a tall bar stool/chair, power outlet and no less than 4sq meters (2x2) space for performing.
I would like the name, number and best way to contact you as well as directions to the venue.
I do not. I do provide my own microphone and stand, but will require a PA.
Yes, I'd be happy to connect my Spotify to the PA, if asked to do so.
There have been several in the past year, however the Fountaine Palace in Liepāja, Latvija is the first to come to mind from the recent ones. It was one of the best well oiled teams I've performed for. From the moment we arrived until the performance ended, every step of the way was handled by the appropriate team member efficiently. Incredible experience. From reception to accomodation to soundcheck to green room drinks and snacks to payment. On point!
Don't know if I have one. So long as people enjoy the music I'm good. Maybe I'll have a story down the road as to what my favourite event would be.
I have been playing music most of my life, to some degree or other, (grade school, high school, college)
Been gigging for several years, both as a bass player and a solo act.
I have played bass in a few bands, (reggae, rock, metal, world music, post punk) as well as been the singer and bass player for tribute project a began in the spring of '23. I began gigging with the bass in 2017, when a friend I met at a local jam asked me to join his band.
I picked up the guitar in the late 2000s and have gotten more comfortable performing for the public over the past 4 years, namely after being invited to perform for the 2nd year anniversary of a cafe (medium 43) I used to frequent while staying in Prague back in 2020, right before the lockdowns.
Last year I performed 20 solo shows, was invited to sit in with a couple of bands for one-off gigs, and performed 18 gigs, including 4 festivals with my tribute project. Was a good year musically.
Way too many to name. However 2 bands stand out in my top 5, although they don't fully reflect the range of my influences, they do reflect who inspired me to play bass, John Taylor from Duran Duran and Simon Gallup from the Cure. As far as guitar influences Johnny Marr from the Smiths and Porl Thompson from the Cure. Stewart Copeland may be my all time favourite drummer.
I like to arrive about 60-90 minutes before the performance to set up. It takes me about 20-30 minutes to set up and sound check. Normally perform for about 2 hours, 2 X 55 minute sets. Happy to play longer if the crowd is vibing or if requested to in advance, so as to have enough material prepared.
Happy to play outside, and will ask for cover from the elements, whether it be the sun or rain, and a power supply accessible and in reach of the performance area.
When given notice, I am willing to learn 2-3 songs specifically requested by the client. Also I can supply the client with my repertoire set, and if they have specific choices from the list, I am glad to include these in the set.
Clients like the energy and the vibe, and will normally comment after the show.
