Dario Piccioni, born in Rome, is an Italian jazz bassist, composer.

His music includes influences from jazz, fusion, world, Brazilian music, and progressive.

BEST BASS PLAYER “Be Jazz European Contest”, (Leuven, Belgium, 2017); BEST ARTIST “Conad Jazz contest – Umbria Jazz ” (Perugia, Italy, 2017); BEST INSTRUMENTAL PERFORMANCE “Johnny Raducanu International Jazz Competition” (Braila, Romania, 2022); “FIRST PRIZE” Premio Jazz Isio Saba for innovation and creativity in Jazz (Cagliari, Italy, 2023).

He has performed with Javier Girotto, Stephane Belmondo, Perico Sambeat, Rosario Giuliani, Danilo Rea, Rita Marcotulli, Eddy Palermo, Maria Pia De Vito, and many others. He has figured in albums as a sideman with Ralph Towner, Philip Catherine. He also works as a performer musician in the theater show and with personalities of Italian radio and television.

In its intense and continuous recording and performing activity as a side man and co-author, he dedicates himself passionately to composition and bandleading, releasing three albums as a composer and band leader: “Limesnauta” in 2019, “Carpet Stories” in 2021, “Hortus Del Rio” in 2023.

After completing his bachelor's and master's in music and anthropology studies between Rome, Brussels and Valencia, he graduated at the American International Music School Berklee College of Music.
