About / Biography

You want a saxophone for your live gig? Need a solo for your next banger? I got you covered. I am David, a saxophonist with many years of experience playing live and in the studio, looking fashionable while doing so. Through the years I have played esteemd venues like the Brighton Dome and Ronnie Scotts jazz club as well as hundreds of gigs around the UK opening for acts such as Black Honey and Bel Cobain. I have also been working with producers like Pete Smith (Stevie Wonder, Sting) and Mark Dodson (Joan jett, Judas priest). I am fluent in almost every genre, can read sheet music and I am very keen on improvising.

Would prefer a mixing desk and a PA so that the sound can reach the audience

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

I performed at Stockholm City Hall for the UN assembly including several world leaders and royalties. It was amazing seeing the swedish queen get up and dance to "Dancing Queen" by ABBA


What's your favourite type of event?

I love all sort of venues but concerts or live sessions are my favorite.


What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I started gigging when I was about 16 years old, I formed different bands and joined sever bands. Since i moved here I have freelanced regularly .


Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Bruce Springsteen: he is the best songwriter and performer ever. And his saxplayer Clarence was the coolest. Best song is Jungleland because it has the best sax solo EVER!

What are your typical setup and performance times?

It takes me about 10 mins to set up then usually play for 1-3 h, maybe break in between but fine if not.

Yes

Yes, whatever the client wants me to play

Do I play solo shows

Preferable NOT. Hire me as part of a band/function/session/DJ and I will bring you amazing saxophone. For SOLO performances different prices occur.
