Ventriloquist Doug Mickan has been entertaining audiences of ALL ages for 32 years. Churches, Birthday Parties, Schools, Libraries, Corporate Events....you name it, he has probably done it. Doug is a comic ventriloquist with a large cast of lovable and unique characters. His content is ALWAYS family-friendly, and entertaining for all ages. Small gatherings, large festivals, and anything in between; let Doug & his friends make your event even more memorable and fun!
= areas covered (up to 1945 miles)Stage: Doug performs in all kinds of environments, and he understands that while an elevated stage is ideal, it is not always possible. In any setting, Doug needs at least 8’ x 8’ as a performance area. Seating should be set up at least 6’ from the front of the “stage”. If children are sitting on the floor, provide a strip of tape or a rope to mark the front of the “stage”. **Doug does not need any stools or tables on stage. Please try to have a clear stage area.
Sound: For most venues, it is vital to have a sound system available for the performance. Doug needs either a wireless headset mic or a microphone on an adjustable stand. The sound system should be clear, & loud enough so that everyone in the audience can hear clearly through laughter and applause. Please allow time for a quick sound check before the audience arrives. Please be sure your sound tech is available for sound check

Doug does have a small sound system he travels with when traveling via automobile. This is not an option for events requiring flights.

I arrive 30-60 minutes prior to the performance to load in and set up. My performances run anywhere from 30-90 minutes depending on the venue and what the client is looking for. The "sweet spot" is typically 45-50 minutes.
Most definitely. It is nice to have shade for myself, and the audience.
I do adapt my performance and try to personalize my act to the audience.
