About / Biography

Black Sax is the result of the friendship and the passion for music of Alberto and Paolo, two guys based in the heart of Tuscany, who chose sax as way of their creativity. Coming from two different educations and musical backgrounds, they put their experiences together to get an exciting and pretty dinamic performance by the energy of a dj-set with the charming sound of the saxophone. Black sax is a versatile project in a big range of occasions, when talent, taste and elegance make an unforgettable event.

We are used to play in every parts of the event in different ways: as a traditional Dj-Set, as a duo act with one on the DJ and one on the sax, as a Dj-Set + two saxes, or just background music according to your preferences. We have no limitations for music genres and changing music styles during the day would be perfect! We play covers of any song to your liking and we gladly accept songs on request to make the highlights of the day unique. Our saxes are equipped with wireless microphones: this allows us to move away from the console if necessary and to involve guests in the best way.

During the aperitif we usually offer lounge and chill music through a moderate volume Dj-Set with a sax played live: in this way we create a cheerful but not anooying atmosphere where there is music but people talk and drink pleasantly.

During dinner we believe that the best solution is to play music as a background without sax at a very low volume trough our audio system. In this case we often use ready-made playlists with very famous songs in acoustic version.

For the cutting of the cake we prepare everything necessary to play your favourite songs using our DJ equipment and the sax played live.

For the final party we propose a very energetic show with two illuminated saxes to involve people to dance and then gradually decrease the amount of the sax to conclude with a classic Dj-Set.

We gladly accept songs on request (such as for cutting the cake and/or for a romantic dance) and we provide a wireless microphone for speeches. What I have described above is just an example and we can easly adapt to your preferences.

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

Our service always includes: 100% Customized repertoire, Sound Systems, Microphone for speeches, Planning meeting and/or visit to the venue (or Skype call), Transport A/R, preparation, soundcheck and disassembly, disco lights, other technical expenses. (SIAE non included).

Black Sax's equipment:
• 2 saxophones and 2 clip mics
• MP3 music files, computer, audio interface, software, controllers, two wireless systems for sax's microphones
• two sax's clip microphones and one wireless microphones for voice or speeches
• One stereo audio system Turbosound IP3000 (two columns)
• One stereo audio system Turbosound IP500 (two columns)
• One mono speaker Roland Cube street ex
• One stereo sound system JBL EON 208
• cables and electricity adapters
• 2 dj tables (one big black table + one smaller black table).
• 2 moving head for flash and coloured light disco effects
• 2 white stroboflash for a strobo light disco effect

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

Full equipment time setup: 2 hours
Full equipment time dismantle: 2 hours

Ceremony time: usually 1 hour
Aperitif time: usually 2 hours
Dinner time: usually 1 hour and half
Cake cutting time: usually 30 Minutes
Party time: usually 2 hours

We accept one event a day to ensure our best performance.
Our work shift for each single event is a maximum of 8 hours (excluding travel, assembly and dismntle times)
