About / Biography

DJ Freegah | Weddings, Birthdays, Events, Festivals, Clubs.

A native of Ibadan, one of Nigeria’s oldest cities, Freegah grew up during what is arguably the most influential periods in Afrobeats history. His passion for Africa-inspired music genres and acquaintances with dynamic DJs across the continent would later inspire him to take up the turntables when he moved to Europe.

The Cologne-based DJ has honed his skills playing at a number of special events, music festivals, and major clubs around Germany, including shows alongside prominent DJs and national acts. His personal highlight so far being a gig in front of over 3000 people at the 2019 Carnival of Cultures in Berlin.

Freegah made his festival debut, playing with Freak de l’Afrique at The Splash! Festival, one of Germany’s biggest hip-hop festivals.
On the turntables, DJ Freegah loves to give his all, investing his energy to keep the good vibes flowing while connecting to his audience.

Apart from mixing music or wowing frenzied crowds, Freegah is an accomplished Software Engineer/Consultant.

What are your basic technical requirements?

I am quite flexible. I just need a table (2mx2m) to put my DJ equioment

What information do you require about a venue?

I need the name and address of venue.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

If needed, yes I can provide sound and lighting equipment.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

If needed, yes, but I prefer mixing/playing the songs from my playlists and equioment.

What's your favourite type of event?

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I have been gigging since beginning of 2019 and have had a lot of experience internationally - over 40 weddings, over 200 club gigs, 10 festivals and a couple of corporate gigs.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Wizkid, Burna Boy, Black Coffee, Bun Xapa

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I normally arrive 2 hours before the performance to set up. I am happy to play a bit longer, as long as the client wants and the guests are enjoying themselves.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes. I am happy to play outside but we ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Yes, for private events, definitely. "Client is king!"

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?
