Royal Jelly is a platform for established and upcoming artists (musicians, designers, painters etc): In collaboration with bars, restaurants, art galleries and other creative spaces, RJ helps new talents to exhibit their art. Founder - DJ Michael D - Started Djing in 2005 - Played in various Bar/Clubs in London - To name a few - T Bar, Mother bar, 1001, Circus, Vibe bar, Favela Chic, Shoreditch House and more.
In 2007, launched Lookout in favela chic, a platform for established and Upcoming artist, like Oddissee, Blu & Exile, Kev Brown, Spin Doctor, Ty, Eric Lau, Vula Malinga, Sonny J Mason and more. In 2018, after living in BCN for 7 yrs - started Royal Jelly Event Entertainment (which is more or less the same concept as Lookout but more eclectic) - We cover all types of artists from live flamenco to live reggae and everything in between. Artist like Marianna Sanjuan and her band, Necrojocker, Malik Hyder, David Sanchez and his flamenco crew, Adria Font, Cristian Saucedo and more
Co-Founder - Gosia Kubicka - (painter, graphic designer, photographer), in charge of the visual for RJ, which includes creating e-flyers, banners, taking photographs, hiring photographers and video makers. Lately performing live painting during our music events. And we also collaborate with galleries to provide art work or to come to our events to do some live paintings
I am an open format DJ so I collect most genre.
A DJ booth with speakers and power socket near by. I can bring my own equipment (turntables or controller) if not provided and a mixing table for the bands.
The setup time depends on what equipment I need to bring but for a dj set its normally between 15 mins and 30 mins and for a band 1h/1.5h with the sound check.
The DJ sets are normally between 3 and 5 hours and the bands can either do 3 sets of 30 minutes or 5 sets of 20 minutes
