Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I can set up anywhere in under five minutes ready to go. 5x5 space is plenty. Parking is nice. Power is a bonus but not absolutely necessary .For outdoor gigs I can provide a pop-up 10x10 tent if you don't have one plus a cargomat and my own drum throne so I'm self-contained. Point and click. With 400 watts I can provide enough sound for most venues.

What information do you require about a venue?

How many people to expect if you are booking for balloon twisting as I have to pre-order sufficient. If you need me to twist for a lot of people I'll need additional balloonage fees to cover those costs... I will alter my volume to your requirements.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

completely self contained. I have my own sound equipment and a few lights. For a large event - I'll use your gear for lighting and sound but run off of mine.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

I can provide a DJ service or Karaoke if I know the theme in advance i.e. swift, beatles, pop...using mp4 files. For spotify you can plug in your phone and play thru my system.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

Kingston, Windsor buskerfests. A number of O.A.A.S. fairs and lots of family friendly events.

What's your favourite type of event?

Family friendly events are always fun as are farm fairs & neighborhood carnivals.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I've been gigging since 1999 starting with a Christmas Carnival where they had me as the grinch, santa & as a polar bear plus double duty as a balloon twister. It was a very busy event with 1000+ parents and children in a drill hall. Later I added circus skills, music and puppets.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Favourite band is the Beatles with no specific favourite artist. Favourite song is Steely Dan's Reelin' in the Years or ELO's Mr. Blue Sky. I cover everything from the 1700's on up. I'm currently working on songs from the 1880's to the 1930's but I keep my eye open for missing Beatles tunes or classics from the 50's, 60's & 70's. I have an extensive range and can play specific years as requested. Anything from 1725 to 2025 is available with a few from the 1600's as well.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I can be set up in under five minutes once I'm told where to be and I can play/twist all day/night. You can pre-select type of music, genre, year or something custom. I have a play list of well over 10,000 songs on tap for sax, e-sax, uke, guitar, cello, bass and can switch between the instruments and voices (e-saxes have over 300 available) to switch it up. I will adapt to your needs.

Are you happy to perform outside?

inside or out, rain or shine, snow or ice (winter carnivals) are all good for me as well as strolling or static. Powered or unpowered makes no difference, any surface works and if it is a bit boggy I have an RV cargo mat to keep my space tidy and if I know in advance I can bring a 10'x20' foot mat for a small audience to sit on too.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

what I play is totally customizable. I pull from over 10000 files of backing tracks that I play along to as the lead melody instrument. I can cover any years from as old as the 1725 (and a bit older) up to 2025. Beatles, Taylor Swift, classical, christmas, contemporary, latin, celtic, disney, children's, pop, rock, country & western and more. Just ask and I'll do my best to find it on file or the nearest equivalent. My e-saxes emulate over 300 voices in 7 octaves and 12 keys and my Q-chord synth has another 112. A little something for everyone. Mobile music is also available and I'll stroll and play. If it is too sunny/rainy I'll wear an umbrella.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

zany comes to mind but I'm quite happy to be fully formal as well. Tuxedos, suits or tailcoats on stand-by but for informal events I like to colourize with steampunk tailcoats, matching hats/umbrellas and harem pants for a splash of colour. I also have a unicorn suit that I can wear to perform and play ukulele/guitar as I stroll with a slung mini-amp.
