Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

One of our most memorable gigs was performing at Le Pigalle in Paris, blending our signature Neo-Soul and Jazz Fusion vibes with the intimate atmosphere of this iconic venue. The energy was electric, and the audience made it unforgettable.

What's your favourite type of event?

We love intimate settings where we can connect deeply with the audience—whether it’s a cozy jazz club, a cultural space, or a rooftop event. But we also enjoy larger events where the energy is high, and the grooves can truly take over the room. Every show is unique, and we thrive on adapting to the vibe of the space.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

Epic Soul Sessions grew from a passion for improvisation and live music, starting with jam sessions in Nice and Paris. Over time, we’ve evolved into a collaborative project, performing across various venues and festivals, blending genres like Neo-Soul, Jazz Fusion, and RnB. Our journey has always been about pushing creative boundaries and creating unforgettable live experiences.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Our influences range from the rhythmic genius of Yussef Dayes to the soulful sounds of D’Angelo and the timeless grooves of Herbie Hancock. We’re deeply inspired by artists who push boundaries and create unique soundscapes. One of the greatest songs of all time for us is Watermelon Man by Herbie Hancock—a track that embodies innovation and groove

What makes Epic Soul Sessions unique compared to other live bands?

Epic Soul Sessions is all about creating a one-of-a-kind experience through improvisation, live creativity, and a unique fusion of Neo-Soul, R&B, Gospel, and Jazz Fusion. Every performance is different, blending original compositions with deep grooves and powerful vibes that evolve in real time.

Do you offer customized performances for specific events?

Absolutely! We tailor each set to match the vibe and theme of the event. Whether it’s an intimate cocktail hour, a high-energy festival, or a private dinner, we create a custom musical journey that fits the moment perfectly.

How many musicians are part of the band, and can you adjust the lineup?

Our core setup is a trio or quartet, but we can expand with additional musicians to fit the event. From small intimate setups to large band performances, we are flexible and ready to scale for any occasion.

Do you collaborate with other artists or guest musicians?

Yes! Collaboration is at the heart of Epic Soul Sessions. We love inviting special guests—vocalists, instrumentalists, or even DJs—to join us and elevate the experience. This makes every performance fresh and exciting.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We typically arrive 90 minutes before the event to set up and soundcheck. Our performances are flexible, usually structured in two 45-minute sets, but we can adapt the duration based on the event’s needs. Whether it’s a shorter, high-energy performance or a more extended set, we tailor it to fit the vibe.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, we’re happy to perform outside! We just ask for a flat, shaded surface, a reliable power source nearby, and weather-appropriate conditions to ensure the best experience for both the audience and musicians.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

We love collaborating with clients on the setlist. They can choose from our existing repertoire or request up to 5 specific songs. We’re happy to mix our selection with their favorites to create the perfect atmosphere for the event.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Dynamic, unique, and captivating. Clients often say our performances bring a fresh, spontaneous energy that transforms the event into a memorable experience. Our ability to blend genres and improvise in the moment is frequently highlighted as a standout feature.
