Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

Pending the size of the Band hired, we need a performance space of at least 15 - 20 feet wide up to 10 -15 feet deep. We require 2 - 4 x 20 amp power sockets and 4 - 6 parking spaces."

What information do you require about a venue?

We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right place to load in our equipment. We’d also need to be informed if there’s a sound limiter in the venue.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes, we’re completely self contained. We bring our own PA system to all of our gigs as well as a simple lighting rig.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

The Variety Band performed at a local Casino where there was a great crowd and lots of dancers. Having the dance floor full always helps the band create more energy and it flows right to the crowd. The Country Band performs at a local Country Saloon specific to line dancing, always a great time with a full dance floor.

What's your favourite type of event?

We love playing at all sorts of events but venues where the audience participates in dancing are our favorite ! The guests are always happy and it’s easy to get them dancing.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

We started gigging during our teenage years and our performances developed from there. Since we started we’ve performed at hundreds of clubs, private events, corporate vents, festivals, carnivals, colleges, parties, dances, casinos, in the Mid Atlantic region but even specific to Nashville, Los Angeles, and parts of Europe.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

On the variety side, influenced mostly by The Eagles and the Beatles. When it comes to Country, Alan Jackson, Blake Shelton, George Strait. Just too many artists to mention whether Variety or Country.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We normally arrive one and a half hours before the performance to set up. We normally perform 2 ( one 20 minute break ), 3 ( two 20 minute breaks ), or 4 hour sets ( three 20 minute breaks). Two or three hour sets preferred but if 4 hours required it's not a problem. pricing is a little more for the 4 hour sets.

Are you happy to perform outside?

We’re happy to play outside but we ask for shade, a flat level hard surface and a power supply close to the performance area. We will not perform on grass or bare ground due to electric shock.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

We can learn a few specific songs before the event, usually for a wedding but we usually limit this to 3 songs, as long as they can be performed by the band. The clients are welcome to pick some songs from our list, we offer over 200 songs. We'll include where we can, but we'll complete the sets to keep the music flowing. We even take requests at the live event, if we can

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Previous customers compliment us on our sound. Compared to other bands, our lead vocals, harmonies, and musicians are excellent. Our vocals are out front of the instruments, and we are not too loud. We set our volume level to create energy but not over bearing.
