With rich compelling melodies and tight driving rhythm, five-piece Flatworld play colourful, groove laden and energetic world music from all points East. They take tunes and songs from folk traditions of Eastern Europe and elsewhere and present them in a lively and accessible form — audiences are often dancing by the end of our show.
Previous festivals have included Glastonbury, Ledbury Poetry Festival and Upton Folk Festival.
The line-up is oboe, violin/vocal, guitars/vocal, double bass and drums/percussion. Our music ranges from listen and tap your foot tunes through to dancefloor numbers and we tend to cover the range in most gigs.

The band got together in 2001 to play support for Polish trio Kroke, so we would have to say them, otherwise we probably wouldn't exist.

Typical performance time is two sets of 45 mins to an hour, with a short break in between. However, we're completely flexible and will fit in with the requirements of the event or venue.
We need 1 hour to set up (although we prefer a little more) and 30 to 45 mins to pack up afterwards.
We’re happy to play outside but we ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.
We can learn specific songs before the event but we usually limit this to a couple of songs. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them.
