Humanist ceremonies are bespoke ceremonies, written especially for the couple by their celebrant. Prior to the ceremony, you will meet with me, in a casual way, for me to get a feel for what kind of ceremony you would like, and ask some questions about you in order to be able to write the ceremony. I will also need you to fill in a questionnaire in order to ensure that no detail is overlooked. I will ask you questions about what you would like included in the ceremony for the ceremony itself to be tailored to you. Once it is written, you will then have the option to edit as many times as you see fit until the ceremony is perfectly written to your liking. Once confirmed, I will deliver the ceremony.
Here is my celebrant bio for your info:
Gail Debono
Gail is a forensic psychologist. She is a lover of books, languages, and cultures and hopes to pass this on to her daughter who is the focus of her life. In her spare time, when not at a Foo Fighters concert, Gail may be spotted at the sea or under it, on a scuba dive or two, or watching a good game of rugby. She has lived in over 5 countries apart from her beloved Malta where she plans to stay.
Gail was inspired to become a Humanist Celebrant by the fact that she couldn’t have a Humanist Baby Welcoming Ceremony for her daughter because there were no trained celebrants in Malta at the time. Through becoming a celebrant she hopes to give the opportunity to everybody who wants to commemorate an occasion without religion.
Gail conducts weddings, funerals, baby naming ceremonies, inaugurations and other humanist ceremonies in both Maltese and English.
For groups of guests numbering more than 50 people, I would require a microphone with a stand. It is also best to have a small table on which to sign, although this is optional if you do not wish to have a certificate or sign one.
Whether there is parking available for the celebrant.
No
No, my focus on the day will be the ceremony rather than logistics surrounding it.
I've loved many venues, both locally and abroad. I absolutely love venues with a lot of greenery or ones with historical value, Malta is blessed with a large choice of beautiful venues.
I love weddings held on boats, and ones that are intimate whereby I am able to get to know the wedding party for a more intimate experience.
I have been a celebrant since 2015, and I started because the service was not available in a secular manner when I wanted to welcome my child into the world.
I absolutely love grunge music, and I am/was heavily influenced by 70s rock. I love Deep Purple, and Led Zeppelin, and when chilling, Pink Floyd. I am also a lover of classical music and play the piano myself. In that regard I love Hans Zimmer and Ludovico Einaudi.
I normally arrive around 20 minutes prior to the starting time of the ceremony. The ceremony length is that of around 20 minutes, but it can be as short or as long as the clients would like it to be!
Absolutely! I am not hindered by weather, and I love a good storm to add character to the day!
My clients have total say in what goes into their ceremony.
I have raving reviews everywhere, by clients and guests alike. I take great pride in rising to special occasions.
