I've been playing in bars, pubs, clubs, arenas, and theatres all over the world for more than twenty years now. I play in my home town Dublin Ireland regularly as well as all over Europe, Asia, and America. I have played at weddings, corporate events, and music festivals. I play a variety of styles and genres including Irish folk, rock and roll, pop, country, bluegrass, blues, heavy metal, hip hop, and any others you can think of. I can perform as a solo act, as part of a duo, trio, or full band show. Check the testimonials below.
"As a long-time Folkpunk, Celtic Punk, Irish Folk Punk fan, I found the line-up perfect. It started with the Gavin Carpenter Duo, two men, alone on the big stage. Vocals, guitar and a cajon, that was all to give the audience a taste for the rest of the evening. Personally, I really enjoyed this hour of folk music and I was certainly not alone. The people sang along and clapped along, Gavin Carpenter took the audience to the Emerald Isle musically with his discreet, not at all obtrusive manner and looked very good in his fine suit."
"Made in Ireland" is the name of the festival, but it only features one real Irishman. Gavin Carpenter travels directly from Dublin to Neu-Ulm. Squeezed into his tour schedule between two gigs in Dublin's Temple Bar pub district. His motto in Neu-Ulm as well: "No Fillers, only Killers." With a best-of-Irish folk, from traditional hits like "Back Home in Derry" to hits by the Pogues, Carpenter goes from zero to 100. Remarkably, the Johnny Cash look-alike would also pass for a double of the "Man in Black" vocally with his covers."
