Although strongly influenced by traditional African and Carribean Music, as well as by American Rhythm & Blues, reggae owes its direct origins to the progressive development of ska and rocksteady in 1960s Jamaica. But for the members of BUSHMEN, theirs was a co-existence realised by a common aim when they started performing at the International School of Singapore in 1997. Taking the ensemble on the road, Izaar (Vocal), Restam (Guitar), Hassan (Bass), Rosdee (Keys), Sofy (Drums) and Rahman (Percussions); perform live and direct to the masses at local pubs, clubs and restaurants.
