Hello My name is John M. Bierens i am a retired aircraft technician, and I live in Wichita Kansas. I am available to play either the great Scottish highland bagpipes or the smaller parlor bagpipes depending on your venue, for any time and and often on short notice. I have been playing the Bagpipes now for over 30 years with various grade 4 and grade 5 pipe bands, and now I am with the Wichita Caledonia Pipes and Drum band. I play the pipes for all occasions, Funerals, Weddings, Anniversaries, Burns Dinners, Reunions and even St. Patrick's Day. So please consider me, when you are looking for a Scottish bagpiper for your next occasion.

I need to know what is the occasion, funeral, wedding, birthday party... that way I decide the music and the cloths that I will wear for the event

I especially like Piping in the Veterans, for the Honor Flight home coming Program.
I perform as a service to the people that require my particular talent, Playing the bagpipes, and singing Celtic music, both Scottish and Irish. So I enjoy all of the events that I do that can help people in a time of mourning, worship, weddings, parties, and anniversaries, and more. The bagpipes are an instrument of life in Scotland, and are used in all occasions.
I have been playing the bagpipes for over 30 years in different pipe bands, I am currently play in the Wichita Caledonian Pipes and Drum Band. Now that I have retired from my career in the aviation Industry, I am now able to perform in more solo gigs, as well with the band.
Being a member o f the Clan MacPherson USA Branch, and a Regional Commissioner for the clan, I believe that the finest piper to Play the pipes was "Wee"Donald MacPherson. The People who have most influenced my piping are my instructors; currently Kevin Thames of the Caledonian Pipes and Drum Band, The late Ian Briggs of the Wichita Saltire Pipers, and A.G. Lee of the Allegheny and District pipe band. They have and continue to help me to perfect my playing of the bagpipes
I usually arrive at least a half hour early to tune up my bagpipes and will play as often and as long as the client needs my services.
I play the great highland bagpipes, that I usually play outside and occasionally inside for larger venues. I also have smaller parlor bagpipes to play inside for as well. I have played the bagpipes in all kinds of weather all year around.
I do have a repertoires that I will send out to my clients for the different gigs, and I have done requests for clients out side of my repertoires if given enough time to find and learn the tune.
I have all 5 star Performances and people say that I am Professional and willing to what ever I can to make their event a success.
