Solo Spanish Guitar
Swing/Rumba Guitar Duo
Howard Haigh has been delighting and entertaining audiences for three decades. He played for the late Queen, appeared on Blue Peter - amongst many other TV and radio appearances, danced with Gloria Gaynor, toured with ballet and theatre companies, has performed at the London Barbican, Queen Elizabeth, and Royal Albert Halls, amongst numerous other venues and events.
A hugely accomplished and virtuosic player of the Spanish Guitar, mixing Flamenco, Classical, Jazz and other styles, Howard is an acclaimed composer, taking music from around the world to create a vibrant, exhilarating and thoroughly enjoyable musical experience. Howard’s performances also include some of his favourite popular tunes from The Beatles, Santana, Blues and Folk – adding to the broad appeal of the show.
Besides solo pieces, Howard also on occasion uses digital looping to build up layers of sound, sometimes with a synth pedal, turning the solo guitar into a virtual orchestra.
Howard is also available with Swing and Rumba Guitar Duo ‘Fretville’ - Gipsy Jazz (Django); Swing & Jazz vocal classic (All of Me, Autumn Leaves), Rumbas, Mambos, Tangos and Blues.
It depends on the type of performance required but one thing is certain - this a contemporary approach to the great Spanish guitar tradition.
Howard is a great communicator and presents the music with charm, humour, and fascinating nuggets of musical and personal history - but ultimately it is the skill, love and beauty of the music which makes this such a special and memorable evening.
