The Hudson Valley Jazz Quintet is led by drummer, Steve Rubin, founder of The Hudson Valley Jazz Festival. The festival which is a local event was designed to feature local talent deserving of wider recognition.
In addition, artists such as The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Wallace Roney, Dave Liebman, Bill Evans ( saxophone), John Abercrombie, Adam Nussbuam, Steve Swallow, Lenny White and Arturo O'Farrill have appeared.
This group is a classic jazz line up of keyboards, bass, drums, saxophone and trumpet covering anything from standards for a wedding or corporate event to more modern and in the vein of Miles, Coltrane, and others.
