Imperio Bamba's sound emerges from their Latin American roots (Peru/Chile), mixing cumbia, chicha and Afro-Peruvian with psychedelic synths and intense guitars.
Since 2016 they have played in different venues in Lima, Santiago, and London (passing clouds, stage 3 Hackney Empire and The Forge to name a few). This year, they presented their original music at other important London venues such as Hootananny Brixton and Paper Dress Vintage, and festivals like Lambeth County Show and CASA, with a very good reception from the public and the organizers.
On March 1sy 2019 they released their first single called "Los Amantes" through all major streaming platforms and with a launch party at paper dress vintage in Hackney, London, where they played to a full venue.
Through hypnotic rhythms, this song is for all the lovers who move and migrate freely in the world.
In Peru "Bamba" means something or someone fake. The meaning behind Imperio Bamba (empire of the fake) is centered on creating awareness of all that is fake in the current situation of the world. Also, to reflect on how we should move freely through the world and also how we should move freely while dancing.
