About / Biography

Inma González was born in Barcelona, Spain. Has studied with renowned masters of both castanets and dance - Rosita Segovia, José de la Vega, Paco Romero and the concert performer Emma Maleras. (She graduated with Honors from the Maleras Method for Castanets). Inma regularly worked in close collaboration with Emma Maleras as judges in examinations, classes, and concerts. From an early age she showed her virtuosity with castanets, which made her join the Emma Maleras Castanets Choir. In 1984 Inma started her career as a soloist, a profession which she is continuing now. In 1983 she performed in the Rosita Segovia Dance Festival of Castle Perelada, in the Palau of Catalan Music. She was invited by “Amics de l’Opera de Sabadell” in the Opera Carmen by Bizet. She has recorded an album with singer María del Mar Bonet, and collaborated with the National Radio and Spanish Television. Inma has performed in the Miami Gusman Theatre in the United States under the music direction of the master Manuel Ochoa. She was a guest artist in the opening of the 48th Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales, Great Britain. She participated in the 4th European Youth Music festival in Fertőd and Budapest, Hungary. She participate opening celebration of the Barcelona 92 Olympic Games .

Inma has formed duos with classical guitarists such as Horst Sohn in Germany, Denis Sung-Hô in Belgium, and the flamenco guitarist José Luis Montón in Spain; trios with the pianist Stéphane De May and the cellist Luc Tooten in Spain and France. Inma has conducted concerts with the renowned flutist Marc Grauwels, and Yves Storms the guitarist in Belgium, Holland, France, and Spain. Together with Marc Grauwels and Kiyoshi Shomura, in 2001 Inma has done a grand concert tour in Japan with great success, both among the public and the critics.

In 2007 Inma directed the concert-performance "El Somni d'un so" where the castanets were the leitmotif among dance, opera, aerobatics, etc. Inma collaborated with Delorgan (Irish Dance) together with the guitarist Alen Garagic. In 2012 she formed a trio with the violinist Sonja Kalajic and the pianist Yoko Suzuki with whom she performs together regularly.

In 2013 Inma started a new collaboration, this time with the accordionist Christophe Delporte. With him and Marc Grawels play in Seoul, Korea in March 2016. In 2017 play in Belgium with "I Virtuosi di Waterloo" with Jean-Frédéric Molard violin.

In Barcelona with Yoko Suzuki released a new pieces Spanish Japannise music. In May 2018 on a tour of Spain they premiere "From East to West ..." in Madrid as well as the Homage to Emma Maleras on the first anniversary of his death. In 2019 50th Anniversary Celebration Concert of the Sanctuary of Santa Eulalia together with Yoko Suzuki. The Exhibition Tribute to Emma Maleras # 100EmmaMaleras and director of the Tribute Concert at the School of Flamenco Art and Spanish Dance of Love of God.

He play as a soloist together with the Las Palmas Symphony Orchestra at the VIII Popular New Year's Concert. Directed by Rafael Sanchez-Araña in the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium with more than 6000 spectators in the four concerts performed. The Concert Season of the Isaac Albéniz Conservatory of Music of the Girona 2020 "ConcertOlè" opens with Yoko Suzuki piano and Séverine Rospocher, flute.

In 2021 he play as a soloist together with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Ponferrada y El Bierzo at The Spring Concert, The Spanish Music. Directed by Manuel Alejandre Prada.

In February 2022, she is invited to the II Encuentro Ciudad de Sevilla de Castañuelas as a teacher and solist She collabortes again with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Las Palmas in the Premier "Zarzuela Glam 3.0" in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

In 2023 of new collaborations in May with Yoko Suzuki and Aleksandra Ivanoski in the Tribute on the centenary of the birth of Alicia de Larrocha. Marina Herlop and her electronic music compositions at the SÓNAR Festival 30th Anniversary, Sónar Hall, Barcelona.

He was the absolute protagonist of the two concerts at the Afundación Theatre in Vigo with the Ponferrada Symphony Orchestra for the luxury shipping company Scenic and the V International Soloists concert "Spanish music" at the Bergidum Theatre in Ponferrada.
