We offer a show of original music and some re-imagined classics in duo ( voice, guitar, keys, live electronics, and bass ) ,or in trio ( add drummer).
We write in the style of alternative Jazz/neo soul, but it’s very hard to put a label on our music as we all come from the jazz background but also delve into electronic music, rock , rnb, classical, latin jazz etc. So we would kindly suggest you listen to our music/ or watch our live videos, to have a more accurate idea of what we actually do.
We most times travel with our PA man who is also our sound engineer and our full equipment due to the massive amount of gear involved. On stage we have two computers, a short keyboard, an electric guitar, a six string bass, at times also an upright bass, multiple chains of sound processors, loopers, push, sampler, mic, stands and professional gear desks. When we play in trio add to this a full drum set entirely mic-ed . We use in-ear monitoring, so we don't need stage monitors allowing for a much cleaner view .
We provide the venue with a detailed tech rider as soon as the gig is confirmed and the contract is signed, to make everybody’s job accurate and super smooth .
As far as the musicians they are all conservatory graduated and well experienced in production and the performative arts at the international level. The vocalist, composer, producer and multi instrumentalist Irene Salis has lived , studied and performed in NYC for 14 years. The bassist, composer and producer Stefano Casti has studied and performed in the UK and Cuba for a decade . They’re both residing in Sardinia at the moment where they founded the Syncopated City project about 8 months ago, but always moving around quite a bit.
We write produce and perform our own music,
however we do rework some classics such as:
Time's a wasting by Erykah Badu
Another Day by 4Hero feat Jill Scott
My Funny Valentine by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart
Don't know why by Jesse Harris / Norah Jones
We need parking space for one or two cars close to stage area at least to unload/load gear.
We have an extremely thorough tech rider which is too complex to reconstruct here. As mentioned in our description we come with our full equipment ( including cables and mics) , drums excluded when travelling abroad with a drummer . Nevertheless we got 22 inputs and 6 outs, so we would love to be able to send out a complete list to whoever would be interested.
The set up takes us about 2.5 hours including soundcheck.
We usually do one full show of 1 hour and 30 minutes/1 hour and 45 minutes with no interruptions.
However when occasions require it we can arrange the show in two sets.
