With Jan's versatility you can expect different music styles, such as Disco, Chill, House, Funk, Dance, Jazz and Lounge. Whether it's a festival, party, gala, wedding, reception or business event, Jan provides the perfect ambiance. Jan does not come alone, he plays with many talented DJs, including the well-known radio 10 DJ Dennis Verheugd. But if you prefer your own DJ, that is also possible.

Saxophone and DJ go hand in hand at Jan's performances. He has been working with regular DJs for years, and is also open to your own DJ. DJs play a crucial role at dance parties, but can also make a valuable contribution to more subdued atmospheres. Jan also plays alone and plays the music himself and also supplies the sound system.

For more quiet events, Jan also offers acoustic performances with his regular pianist or guitarist (walking duo). Jan also plays the piano himself during longer solo performances (additional costs)

BIO JAN
Jan grew up in Uden (Netherlands), an environment with a lot of talented musicians. He had a group with Marcel Schimscheimer (Toots Thielemans, Mink Deville, Gino Vanelli). Jan also performed in those early years with Hans and Candy Dulfer.
Moving to the west, he met Juan van Emmerloot & Walter Latupeirissa (TOTO-member Steve Lukather), Snowy White, Walter Trout) They did a lot of gigs in Holland and played several of Jan’s songs.
In the beginning of the 90’s Jan did a lot of performances with Thijs van Leer (Focus) Bobby Jacobs (Focus), Roeland Jacobs (Laura Figi), Marcel Dorenbos (Laura Figi, Victor Bailey) and Ruben van Rhoon (Candy Dulfer).
During his 6 year period in Curacao Jan performed with Franklin Bata (Candy Dulfer), Roy en Elmer Louis (Passport), de Kast, the Rembrand trio, Konkie Halmeyer and Aaron Heick (Simon and Garfunkel, Lady Gaga). For years Jan performed in the popular café the Tropen with his band.
Coming back from Curacao Jan produced together with Juan van Emmerloot, his own CD ‘the Voice Inside’ (on Spotify), which had some excellent reviews. The Jan van Oortband played songs of this CD on festivals (Jazz in Duketown) and also they performed at the support act of the famous fusionact the Yellow Jackets.
Juan also produced the CD of John Bundrick, former keyboard player of the Who. Jan did the saxwork on that album (Spotify). Together with Ferry Lagendijk (Gare du Nord) they formed their trio LEPR (Spotify)
