The best gig I have ever done is the Edinburgh tattoo in Australia. It was my first ever gig as a military bagpiper and I was totally amazed at the entire setup. A replica of Edinburgh castle was built within Aussie Stadium in Sydney and I was performing infront of thousands of people. A totally unforgettable experience for an 18 year old boy just starting out his career.
I love to play my bagpipes at every event, weddings are my favourite though.
Over a long career of over two decades in the British Army, I have travelled all over the world performing a various venues as well as serving in countries like Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan. From starting out as a junior piper I eventually worked my way up the ranks and was honoured to become an instructor at The Army School of Bagpipe Music and Highland Drumming. Since leaving the army I have been providing my professional bagpiping services for all occasions.
I have been influenced by many bagpipers including the men that I served with in the British Army. My favourite bagpipe tune in called The Dark Island.
I am very used to things changing at the last minute and aim to remain flexible throughout any special day or event. How you use me is completely tailored to your wants and needs.
I normally arrive 1 hour before any gig to tune my bagpipes and get familiar with the surroundings.
