The Severn Valley Stompers jazz band is a Telford-based jazz quartet consisting of soprano sax, piano, double bass and drums. We play a repertoire which draws on traditional jazz, standards, and original compositions by leader Mike Gray. All the band members are well-established professional musicians with a huge amount experience in live performance in various bands at a large variety of events over the years, including jazz festivals, civic and corporate receptions and events, weddings, christenings, funerals, street parades etc., also supporting George Melly and Chris Barber at Oakengates Theatre in the 1990s and The Pasadena Roof Orchestra as part of Kids International in the 1980s.
