Jean Claude started dancing at the ripe age of 19. He has been training in Latin American Dance since 2009 when he competed for the first time under Bronze Level D Class (beginners level). Later on in his dance career, he started training in Ballroom Dance as well.
Jean Claude had been an active member of the local Dancesport Association the M.D.A ever since then and successfully set up a voluntary program in 2010 with the SkolaSajf Office to promote ballroom dance amongst Skolasajf students every summer an interschool team match is held at the end of which the winning school hosts the SkolaZfin Trophy Cup for the scholastic year.
In March 2012 he was nominated as Athletes’ Rep and worked extensively as a Delegate for Athletes, Education and Sports Promotion liaising with KMS and SkolaSajf office, for MDA educational events
In June 2012 he completed the Pre-Tertiary Certificate in Foundations in Coaching at the University of Malta and subsequently started coaching with Sport Malta in various sports programs including dance.
Since 2013 he attended two major international training camps in June 2013 Estonia, Tallinn, July/August 2013 Italy, Caorle (Venice) which he attends every year.
In April 2014 he completed MOC Coaching Program level 1 Instructor and level 2 Coach with the MOC Coaching Academy.
In July 2015 he completed a distance course at TEAM DIABLO Institute (DSI)
He considers himself a very keen and dedicated dancer, aware of his limitations he works hard to enhance his potential,he has wide interests when it comes to sports, enjoys ballet and includes cross-fitness training as part of his training schedule.
Jean Claude strives to continue enhancing his competitive and teaching experiences by taking dance and coaching lessons with ASA Team DIABLO ACADEMY every month or so.
