Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

I have performed onstage solo and with my bands After The Fall and The Black Market Opera at venues across the United States playing everywhere from small coffeehouses to national festivals.
I have played at many famous venues including Kenny's Castaways, The Bitter End, and Arlene's Grocery in NYC and The Trocadero, North Star Bar, and Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia.

What's your favourite type of event?

I love playing all types of events but have always preferred smaller, more intimate settings where the audience has more of a one-on -one experience.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I began gigging in cover bands in the late 1990's, then as an successful original artist touring with my band After The Fall throughout the early 2000's, and currently with my band The Black Market Opera as well as gigging regularly as a solo cover artist.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

The Cure, The Smiths, The Psychedelic Furs, Francis Dunnery, and Kenn Kweder. My favorite artist/band is The Cure and the greatest song of all time (in my humble opinion) is "Just Like Heaven" by The Cure.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I normally arrive an hour before the performance to set up. I usually perform 3 x 45 minute sets at most venues. However, I will tailor any performance to suit the individual venue's needs.

Are you happy to perform outside?

As long as there is a power supply I am more than happy to perform inside or outside.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I am always happy to take requests or learn specific songs for a client.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Previous customers and guests have praised my unique take on cover songs as well as complimenting my repertoire choice since I tend to stay away from overplayed songs that people are tired of hearing in lieu of popular songs which aren't overplyaed by every other guy with a microphone and a guitar.
