Composer, virtuoso and performer, Jose Luis is recognized in all the disciplines of the Flamenco Art.
In 1995 he appeared in Felix Grande’s book “Agenda Flamenca” as one of the 10 top flamenco guitarists of his generation.
Musical director for the Ballet Cristina Hoyos for ten years, he accompanied numerous famous Flamenco singers and dancers.
Driven by his curiosity and supported by his extraordinary virtuosity and unusual sensitivity, Jose Luis' work goes far and beyond the flamenco parameters, his music cannot be just labeled as flamenco, but as world music.
His commitment, his practice and his profound knowledge of the tradition combined with his contemporary approach to flamenco music, gives Jose Luis a powerful potential to be considered as one of the best guitarists of today.
Other accolades include the Marquis Who’s Who Foundation for contribution to the arts during 2022-23, and his name was inscribed in the US Library of Congress.
Jose Luis de la Paz has recently been awarded by GMA (Global Music Awards) as a composer and instrumentalist.

I love theatre and concert halls. Also Universities and that kind of events. Also I make music for dance companies and I love to make music for poems with flamenco influences.
I start gigging in the US years after I decided to move here (2011). My first gig was in 2012 in Cava Lounge, Miami. Before that, in my early beginnings I played alongside local singers in Huelva.
Paco de Lucía, Niño Miguel and Manolo Sanlúcar. Also my Mentor, Maestro Mario Escudero.
Out of flamenco.... Beethoven, Mahler, Brahms, Manuel de Falla, Queen, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin , Claudio Abbado, Rubén Juraez, Yo-Yo-Ma, Placido Domingo, Pavarotti, Dhafer Youssef, Egberto Gismonti, Jaco Pastorious, Lito Vitale....

José Luis brings the classic style of traditional Flamenco into the modern era with not only jaw-dropping technique, but with a depth of emotion that will cause a powerful awakening in the hearts of his listeners (Mr. Berto Boyd, president of Corvalis Guitar Society, Oregon)
He is a poet of the flamenco guitar, with a expressive ability I have rarely heard (Valdemar Phoenix, Houston, TX)
His playing was as expressive as a human voice…. hypnotic, complex, constantly changing Jordan Levin (Miami Herald)
It is rare to have a performer share their vulnerability and struggles so openly and directly. The mood darkened, the pace slowed, and the intensity and unexpected bursts of light suggested a soundtrack for a story, and its attendant our feelings.
