Yes, I am completely self contained. Although I prefer to use provided equipment, however, if needed I can bring my own mic, speakers, DJ DDJ (desk) and PA system to the gigs.
Yes, I am happy to play music from streaming platforms before, after and between our sets. I am happy to choose the music myself or let the client choose the music.
The best gig I have done was singing at The Cancer Walkathon! I was a part of the entertainment for this good cause. The crowd was very receptive to my song choices and energy on stage. It was amazing to entertain families and bring smiles to faces.
I enjoy performing at all types of events, however rooftop venues are my favourite. There is a sense of calm at the top, overlooking the Johannesburg outline. This reflects the very essence of my music (whether DJ'd or sang live).
I started gigging whilst at university, I sang with a collective of different instrumentalists and artists. We performed at many different established events in the city. Since then, I have performed at many different events, weddings, parties, restaurants and so on.
Erykah Badu: Inspired by her soulful but groovy music, I very often love to sing her music as an ice breaker. Incorporating hits like 'On & On' and 'Apple Tree'.
I normally arrive 1-2 hours before the performance. I prefer to do a sound check run through earlier that day, however that is not always guaranteed - which is fine. I normally perform in intervals of 50 minutes per set.
I am happy to play outside, but I ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.
