Kirsten Kirk and the Dirty Work delivers a powerhouse fusion of country rock, pop-punk, and raw storytelling, led by Texas-born, Boston-based musician Kirsten (Ki) Kirk. With a background in classical music, theatre, and pop, Ki blends soaring vocals, hard-hitting grooves, and emotionally charged lyrics to create a genre-defying sound reminiscent of Carrie Underwood, Olivia Rodrigo, Alanis Morissette, Avril Lavigne, and Elle King.
Their electrifying live performances feature a dynamic lineup: electric guitars (occasional acoustic), fiddle, lead & backing vocals, drums, and electric & upright bass (switching midset)
Driven by a commitment to inclusivity and authenticity in an often male-dominated industry, Ki’s music, along with their all queer, primarily femme band, takes audiences on a high-energy, emotionally resonant journey, whether delivering gutsy pop-punk anthems or soul-stirring country ballads.
Their setlist is split evenly between originals and covers, including a bold mix of classics and contemporary hits, such as:
- Country & Americana: 9 to 5 (Dolly Parton), Before He Cheats (Carrie Underwood), Not Ready to Make Nice (The Chicks)
- Rock & Pop-Punk: All I Wanted (Paramore), You Oughta Know (Alanis Morissette), Happier Than Ever (Kelly Clarkson)
- Soul & Folk: Landslide (Fleetwood Mac), Angel from Montgomery (Bonnie Raitt), Wayfaring Stranger (Rhiannon Giddens)
Whether you’re looking for fierce anthems, heartfelt storytelling, or pure musical fire, Kirsten Kirk and the Dirty Work is here to shake things up.

We need a performance space large enough for a drum kit, 3 amps, and a PA system if full band, or 2-3 people and a PA system in duo/trio. We need power/electricity, and 2 parking spaces if we are backlining, 1 if we are not.
We need to know backline if there is one, if there is a PA/mixer, if there is a sound engineer, any sort of band tab/meal or drink tickets, and the location + closest available (and affordable) parking.
We can get access to a PA system and backline, but have no lighting equipment.
Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music.
We played a DIY venue recently, and loved the intimate setting and ability to see the audience.
The best venue we've worked at would be either the Berklee Performance Center for the International Folk Festival, or the Centre del Carmen in Valencia for the Innovation Conference.
We love charity events and festivals! Anything that brings a community together is beautiful, and we love helping provide the vibes for community gatherings, especially for a good cause.
I started gigging summer of 2022, and have been building a steady fanbase. My current lineup has been together for just under two years, and have played every amalgamation of bars, concerts, underground shows, festivals, and recitals in the Greater Boston/Massachusetts area.
Elle King, Alanis Morissette, Chris Daughtry, Carrie Underwood, P!nk, Chappell Roan, Anastasia, Avril Lavigne
My favorite artist is Emily Wolf at the moment, and the greatest song of all time is She Used to be Mine by Sara Bareilles.
We normally arrive 1.5 hours before the performance to set up. We can perform 1, 2, or 3, 45 minute-1 hour long sets. We can cater the set list to the audience, with just a bit of information about the event, audience demographic, and requests.
We would love to play outside, but we request shade if warm, a heat source is cold, and a power supply close to the performance area
We can learn specific songs before the event but we usually limit this to 2 songs per week we have to prepare for the event. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire, or let us choose the music for them.
Previous clients would describe us as a dynamic group, with the ability to bring an audience to their feet or to tears.
