Born and raised in Spanish Harlem, Laurie Vega is an alum of the famed High School of Music & Art. Laurie has performed on stages throughout New York for the past 30 years including CBGBs, The Bitter End, Village Vanguard, Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center, Dizzy’s, Blue Note, The Metropolitan Room, Iridium, Don’t Tell Mama Cabaret, just to name a very few. Starting out as a singer and drummer playing in original bands, convention and wedding bands, Laurie now enjoys performing her favorite form of all, jazz standards. Laurie encompasses a tremendous range and can carry anything from Ella to Peggy to Sarah.
