Dance Flamenco DC and its accompanying children’s program Flamenco 4 Kids!™ delivers an authentic show to audiences of all ages. Flaunting traditional costumes, castanets, shawls, and special dancing shoes, these performers aim to entertain and inspire with the dance and music of Andalucía, Spain.
A typical performance can be up to an hour, with the option of audience participation or a lesson as deemed appropriate to venue coordinators.
About Flamenco- Flamenco can best be interpreted as an expression of passion, pathos, joy and rebellion. Dancers and musicians stamp out their beats in unison with intricate footwork as singers intertwine their soulful melodies, transporting guests to the festive streets of the Spanish gypsies.
Born and raised in New York, Magdalena started dancing Flamenco in 1993 and soon after traveled to Sevilla to study with the legendary gypsy family of El Farruco. She is known for her rhythm and musicality, expertly weaving knowledge of her craft with an academic background in education and social work.
Magdalena has been awarded grants from The Field and Fractured Atlas for her work as a performing and teaching artist. In 2022 she was awarded a fellowship from DC Commission on Arts & Humanities.

We are happy to provide a play list of
appropriate music between sets and before or after the show.
We have performed at hundreds of venues from private parties in a hotel bar to outdoor festivals
attended by thousands of people, to parades,
to corporate events, to you name it! Flamenco is versatile and our shows are adaptable to your needs.
Wedding receptions are intimate and exciting - as long as there is a proper dance floor and a mic we love doing these - audience participation is optional!
We have 25 years in the industry performing, teaching and choreographing in the art of Flamenco and Spanish Dance. Flamencos by nature a performance art. Ole!
Familia Farruco
We normally need 1 hour before the performance to set up. We normally perform 2 x 45 minutes or 2 x 60 minute sets. We’re happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best.
We’re happy to play outside but we ask for shade, a proper dance floor which is elevated and made of wood, and a power supply close to the performance area.

Our performances are flexible based on your needs as the host and can range in length from 20 minutes to 1.5 hours with breaks.

Dance Flamenco DC is more than happy to engage audience members in a demo or class. Many times these people will then join us for the “fin de fiesta” at the end of our performance!
